in maths, we have been learning about the names and properties of 2D and 3D shapes. we have been learning about interesting words like edges, faces and vertices. I have created fact cards about different 2D and 3D shapes. check out my slides!
for literacy this week we have written a letter about a crayon quitting their jobs. we have learnt how to publish it by animating our voices on adobe express. we took inspiration from the picture book the day the crayons quit by Drew Daywalt. check out my video!
we are going on camp next week. we have been doing lots of activities to get us perpared. this is one of the activities we did.
This morning I was walking in the arctic by the water, for my morning walk, and
I saw something move in the water. I felt a chill down my spine.
I thought it was a polar bear, but it was a colossal squid. It looked big and scary
It shot out of the water. Then everything went black. 2 hours later…
SHOSH! “uhhh, is that normal”,
“Don’t know, better take the girl”,
“Yes sir”, “what, where”, “ahhhhhhhhhhh”, “WhAt”, “oh no she’s waking up put her in the basement”, “yes sir” “NO”

In maths this term we have been focusing on learning strategies for addition and subtraction. For Matariki, I have created a star constellation and used my addition strategies to calculate the total distances.
SNAP! It lands. there’s too many trees and roots and logs to see it. I toss a dead ferret and there it is the hippogriff it comes rushing towards me BAM! It rams me, 2 seconds later I’m on its back. I realize I must of held it by the neck and swung on. Then we were in the air flying across the waimakariri. we land an hour later and I feed him “i’m going to call you white wing” I say with a big smile spread across my face then it tack of “bye bye”
